This is a classic Western adventure. Brad Ward was a pseudonym for the prolific writer Samuel Anthony Peeples. The story follows a Union soldier who survives the notorious Andersonville prison camp during the Civil War and heads West on a mission of vengeance. It’s a great example of mid-century frontier "grit."
