Smoke in the Valley (USED)GFIC

Miners came from all over the country to the small mining towns in the Hocking Valley. Little did these men know that their valley was to become the Moonshine Capital of the World, or that they were to be a part of The Great Mine Fire legend that would endure forever. They came with dreams of a better life. They survived hardship and poverty to establish these mining towns. But, they left behind a valley of smoke and a story only whispered about - until now. The events of this novel were related to me by Lucille Peacock Wilson, who grew up during the mining days of the Hocking Valley - in Murray City and New Straitsville. Both her father and her grandfather were blacksmiths in most of these mines. The names have been changed to protect the families and their descendants.
